What we do

Activities

We have a year round programme of coaching, competitive, recreational and fun activities.

In the summer, we meet at the Boathouse on Tyne Green in Hexham on Saturdays at 1-00pm and on Wednesdays at 6-30. The main coaching programmes are at these times. We have an Easter Egg Hunt, a summer barbeque and fun regatta and a September river clean-up with silly games.

In the winter, we continue to meet on Saturdays at Tyne Green and we have pool sessions at Hexham Swimming Pool on Fridays at 8-15 and 9-00pm. Every month we have winter socials for slide shows and presentations on canoeing.

Coaching is available at club sessions on Tyne Green and Hexham Pool.

Trips	As well as paddling at Tyne Green, we have regular trips to paddle more adventurous sections of the River Tyne and to go further afield. We usually have sea kayaking trips on the North Sea, trips on Kielder Water, to the artificial white-water course at Tees Barrage and to various rivers in the UK. From 2005 we will be running the annual Tyne Tour canoeing rally on behalf of the BCU Northern Region which takes place in the first weekend of November.
