Welcome to the website of Hexham Canoe Club!

Thank you for visiting our website. On these pages we would like to tell visitors about our Club and its achievements, and keep our members up to date with our programme of activities, including the latest information about Club trips and coaching. We have a page for members' Classified Advertisements and there is an interactive Notice Board for members to post news and comments as well as notices about private trips. We also have a page of links to the minutes of Committee meetings. The Youth Section page is aimed at young people, their parents and carers and it describes some of the programmes and events for young paddlers that Hexham Canoe Club supports. Finally, the Boat House page has been provided to keep people informed of the exciting developments that are happening at our base in Tyne Green in Hexham. Are you interested in joining Hexham Canoe Club? Go to the Membership page for information about the benefits of membership and how you can join.

The website is best viewed on Internet Explorer 7, Mozilla Firefox 3 or Safari. Links are indicated by underlined text and links to external resources open in a new window.

Are you interested in taking up canoeing? Hexham Canoe Club welcomes beginners! Go to the coaching page for information on how we help introduce beginners of all ages to the fun that can be had from paddlesport. We can also provide training and activities for other groups, such as youth clubs, uniformed organisations, schools and colleges; visit our Activities page for more information about these.

We are located at Tyne Green Country Park, Hexham, Northumberland in the beautiful north east of England. Our main Club session is on Saturday afternoon; we meet at 1-00 and finish at 3-30.

New on the website this week (May 26th)
The new Boathouse is now open. There are still some jobs to do. We will be fitting new racking into the boathouse in the next few weeks. The old cafe will be ready for use as changing rooms, showers and toilets in early June. Go to the Boathouse page for the latest. In the meantime, it's business as usual for our Saturday afternoon sessions, and the Wednesday evening sessions (6pm till 8pm) started on May 5th. Watch this space for news on the official opening of the boathouse

There will not be a club session on Saturday June 5th. This is because Hexham Rowing Club is holding its annual regatta that day. I'm sure they would welcome us down on Tyne Green to support them.

At the AGM, we decided to keep membership fees for 2010-11 unchanged from last year. We have introduced an Unwaged membership class. Membership is now due and forms should be filled in and sent to Colin Rendall as soon as possible. Forms will be sent out to existing members and can be downloaded from the Application page. Watch out for an announcement concerning personal boat staorage by the end of this month.

Hexham Canoe Club is now a limited company. The Club Constitution can be downloaded from the About our Club page.

We have just been told that our bid for money against Canoe England's Project 2010 capital grant fund has been succesful. This means that we will be able to buy four new open boats at half price. The new boats should arrive in the next two months.

The summer coaching programme starts on Tyne Green. This will include sea kayak training, taster sessions for competitive paddling and lots more. Go to the Coaching page for more information

POOL SESSIONS - Have now finished & should commence again in November. Keep an eye on this space.  Please contact Scott Bradley on 07951 354433 or Email bookings@hexhamcanoeclub.org
